CAERNARFON SOCKS
Welsh Tapestry is the term applied to double cloth woven blankets, producing a
reversible pattern and is iconic to the Welsh woollen industry. The Caernarfon blanket
design features several traditional motifs which make up the main pattern. The
patterns have a rigid structure and a linear formation, making them instantly
recognisable. By distorting these iconic motifs the pattern is revitalised and can take
its place within a contemporary fashion context. In combination with a bright colour
palette the motif comes into its own within this pattern.
This sock is knitted from the top down starting with a 2x2 rib and featuring an
integrated heel, for a classic sock shape.
