BALACLAVA
This pattern was driven by examples of protest wear worn to YesCymru demonstrations. The Welsh independence movement is growing, spurred on by YesCymru campaigns such as the exportation of water from Wales without any benefit returning to the country. The bold colours of this accessory are equally as important as its ability to shield from the cold. The motifs have drawn inspiration from the traditional Caernarfon blanket.
This piece is worked in the round from the neck upward with a simple shaped crown. Ribbing is picked up and knitted from the stitches around the face opening to create a smooth edge next to the skin
