novomerino

100% Ultra-fine Merino Wool
machine washable

Our Novomerino yarn uses fibres from sheep selectively bred in Australia, to produce possibly the finest wool, with an average micron count of 15µ. Furthermore the sheep, goats and their environment are properly cared for. This means superior fleece producing an exceptionally high quality fibre which is incredibly smooth and gentle against the skin.

Our merino wool is ultra-fine fibre measures less than 19.5 microns (µ) diameter. In industry terms, this measurement is referred as a ‘micron count’. A micron (or micrometre) is one millionth of a meter (0.000001).

To give you a better picture of how fine this is, we prepared the below diagram.
This is the first time a fibre of this length and quality has been used for a hand knit yarn, and it is a pleasure to work with, and to wear.

Our impeccable care and attention is not just limited to the well being of our livestock. Our commitment to the highest industry standards carry on throughout the production process. We spin and dye all our fleece and over see where every ball of wool is wound and packaged.

We are proud to be the only company in the world to use merino wool of this superior quality for our hand knit yarns.
